Additional Melee Slot

This addon assigns ALL melee weapons in the game an alternative slot, allowing the survivors to carry both a ranged secondary (pistols/magnum) and a melee weapon. Added bonus: You'll be able to melee while downed.

To switch to your melee slot: A. USE THE SCROLL WHEEL B. PRESS 7 (If you have the mod installed on your client) C. TAP 2 (Alternates between pistols and melee, for other co-op players without the mod installed)

NOTE: Works only on LOCAL servers or dedicated servers with this mod installed! This mod WILL NOT work unless you are:

1. HOSTING your own LOCAL server with this mod activated.
2. Playing in a local hosted game WITH the host having this mod activated.
3. Playing in a dedicated server WITH the host having this mod activated.
4. Playing in SINGLEPLAYER. This does NOT mean playing in a game by yourself. This means the singleplayer campaign mode!

Consider the following before you comment with any problems: a. Do you have any conflicting mods installed that will conflict with the additional melee slot? (Specifically weapon script mods that change/overhaul the stats of melee weapons.) b. Do you have this mod subscribed to and installed in the first place? c. Are you following the guidelines previously mentioned above?

I don't respond to comments or requests for this mod, mostly due in part to the way this mod was made; it will continue to work on L4D2 forever, regardless of future updates (and has so under regular use for over than the past decade). If it doesn't work, you didn't do something correct on your end.

The below script shouldn't be necessary, but if you really want to bind the weapon swapping to 2, below is a script you can use. Optional script posted by Rokk

I made a script which enables the ''2'' button to toggle between pistols and melee. Type this in console (One line at a time!), or paste in autoexec.cfg:

bind 2 toggle alias toggle "enable" alias enable "alias toggle disable; slot2" alias disable "alias toggle enable; slot7"
