Tactical Movement Speed Remake

This mod is the definitive remake and massive overhaul of my original Tactical Movement Speed mod. I deleted the old version because the cvar-based vscript led to unfixable bugs. Plus, it was impossible to satisfy all the complaints about the speed being 'too slow' or some shit like that. So, I thought to myself, why not punish myself and start from scratch (exactly what any sane person would do) so you guys can all change the speed yourselves! Obviously this is incompatible with speed changing mods.

Mod Overview

CMS offers more stable control over movement dynamics for both Survivors and Infected. Users can change speed values managed and applied using custom friction and velocity modifiers to create a your own kind of game. Want to replicate Doom? Increase all of the speed value. Are you a masochist? Then set infected speed to 1000 and yours to 200 and see how long you will last. This is your apocalypse!

Core Features

• Full Speed Customization: All movement values are in tactical_movement.cfg found within ems. You don’t even have to quit the game, just quit to main menu, change speed, then profit!

• Granular Speed Toggles: You can individually enable or disable custom speeds for all Survivor states (Base Run, Adrenaline Run, Walk/Aim, Crouch) and every single Infected type.

• Jump Distance Balancing: Includes a toggle to apply a velocity boost after a jump to normalize jump distance when custom speeds are in use.

• Bot Support: A toggle allows you to choose whether the movement modifiers are applied to Survivor Bots or only to human players.

• Default Settings: Default values is set as what I originally envisioned for TMS, which is 30% reduction in speed across infected and survivors.

• Bugs and Fixes: Remember the infamous strafing and crouch speed bugs? (bleugh) well say goodbye to those fucking shit because all of the issues from my previous mod has been fixed.

How to modify speed?

1. Locate the Config File

Find the file named tactical_movement.cfg in the mod's folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\ems\tacticalmovement\

2. Edit the Speeds

Open the file with Notepad or any text editor. Speeds are measured in Feet per Second.

3. Save and Relaunch

Save the .cfg file and restart your map. The new settings will load automatically.

If there is no EMS folder

Play on a map with the mod enabled then immediately quit, the tacticalmovement folder should show up
