Only 368 bricks, too!

IMPORTANT UPDATE! It was brought to my attention that the real car had actually removed its front wings during development, so now the vehicle does NOT have those. Sorry if screenshots may be misleading in terms of the car's aerodynamics.

This is my first replica in quite some time, but I'm definitely glad I made this thing.

A bit of history: The Lear Vapordyne was designed to be a dream machine on the Indianapolis track. It had a very smooth ride, and would have had astounding acceleration, minus some top speed.

Although the technology was nothing new, the way it used its power source definitely was. It had a triangular engine housing with opposed pistons, and it was only ever air cooled because of the low temperatures it reached. It risked no warping, oil burning, nor faults in its motor.

Parts on it were designed to last a lifetime. They were built with hand-crafted care, all machined by specialty workers. Although its top speed could never be tested due to Lear dying out as a company, the car WAS completed. Nobody was willing to ever take the risk of driving it since it had never been tested, and thus nobody even knows if it starts up at all any more. Also, that orange glow in the back is where a supposed exhaust lies, so the emitted light would definitely be visible when starting the car. Of course, it only turns on when you get in.

Fortunately for us, now we can experience the glory of the 1969 masterpiece ourselves. Although it may look like a driving doorjam, everything was meticulously crafted the way it was for a reason. This sci-fi looking machine handles like a dream, especially around the canyon / desert roads where grip can sometimes be minimal.

Did I mention it runs on a boiler?
