Powerline - Underminer

A self-balancing motorbike on treads!

The latest creation for the Powerline Dieselpunk series!

Though I am unsure if it is the first, since another Bob-sized one was assembled long before this one that used rockets, this is a fully-functional motorcycle! Tracks may be a bit odd for a motorbike, but not unheard of.

Treads on motorbikes were first explored in the 1930s, but were abandoned due to questions on viability. A new company, Hyanide, looks to try to produce a new type of tracked motorcycle with a flexible tread for turning, which would make the biggest concern with a tracked bike no longer an issue - its steering.

May desync in multiplayer due to its actuated steering! Please be careful with its use on servers!

Use caution on steep slopes, since the bike will naturally want to stay upright. It may be susceptible to traction loss if it is turned too sharply on a hill. It is also difficult to balance in reverse, so don't cut it too quickly if you're backing up the bike.

Other than that, this bike is surprisingly reliable on offroad obstacles. It can handle decent jumps, rough terrain, an can even crawl over rocks and train tracks. It handles low-traction environments well too, since the treads provide very high surface area to grip the ground.

The artwork in the fourth image is made by Daniele Solimene, and it is part of what inspired me to build this motorbike!
