Powerline - Hydiesel Dragster

The hydiesel, (or hydrogen diesel), engine - The ultimate zero emissions powerhouse for any machine.

Since hydrogen gas works so similarly to diesel fuel in a combustion engine, Powerline uses it without end in industrial machines. However, to prove its versatility to a broader audience, it needed to be used for something a bit more relatable to everyday life.

Drag racing!

Everyone wants to get where they're going faster. Everyone wants a more powerful engine. Everyone [should] desire to cut back their emissions. Since the hydiesel does all of these, it is perfect for consumer vehicles. But to show that it works in common cars, it has to work on something a lot more demanding.

This drag wagon was assembled AROUND the engine. It boasts a super safe roll cage, and great aero, but the main focus is the huge 10-cylinder, twin turbo hydrogen diesel engine in the rear of the frame. Though there are only three gears, the majority of the transmission case is occupied by the clutch so as to not rip the axles apart on the launch. Hydrogen gives a lot more power than conventional fuels...

The car on record can pull a time of about 5.75 seconds! The best way to launch it is to wait to rev up the motor until the VERY last second before the light goes green, then release the parking brake as soon as it does. This gives the car quite a kick start without causing wheel spin.

• This car is EXTREMELY similar to Kamunist's DVC Lepure. Since both cars were built for the same contest in the Camodo Gaming Discord that I am currently hosting, we communicated back and forth a bunch, and ended up both basing our designs off of real diesel dragsters. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1996825776

• This machine spent a lot of time being fine-tuned to drag the time lower and lower. It also had a very bad problem of shaking at high speeds, which has been sorted prior to uploading.

• If the car does start to wobble down the track, let off the throttle and then fire it back up once stable. Overspeed can cause the wheels to oscillate, so be cautious of the stability!
