The FlaRakRad self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system with the Roland 3 air defense system has become the most advanced modification of the Roland series of Franco-German-made anti-aircraft systems. While the army version of the FlaRakPz 1 self-propelled air defense system was equipped with a tracked chassis, the air defense of the Air Force and the German naval forces opted for wheeled chassis for anti-aircraft systems for airfield protection.
