The Baitco. Grouper patrol ship, a modernized version of an antiquated line of vessels from World War II, is an affordable option for coastal defense in the case of tight budgets or desperate measures.
Due to its origin, its price is not too bad compared to ships made entirely with new stuff, while still sporting modern targeting and comms systems.
It comes armed with a 6-inch cannon and a 40mm dual bofors gun for general use purposes. (Trust me, it won't be good for anti-air in the modern day)
Also comes with an unfurnished interior and a few lifesavers to add that extra ship necessity. Also holds a lot of fuel, but not quite enough for oceanic travel, just enough to get around the beaches.
Its hull is completely immune to HMGs and Small arms, while the superstructure only boasts partial small arms immunity at a distance. Against torpedoes, you're better off shooting at it with the bofors to detonate them before they screw up the ship.
Speaking of distance, make sure to put it between you and your target. You have a targeting computer for a reason, after all.
