Indominus Rex

The Indominus Rex, the largest theropod that would have been shown at Jurassic World, was supposedly the first hybrid Ingen ever made. The Indominus Rex was over 50 feet long, and would easily have been the star attraction. However, she never made it to be fully grown, after running rampant during the 2015 incident on Isla Nublar. The hybrid was created by modifying the genome of a Tyrannosaurus rex with the DNA of various other theropods. These other species include include Velociraptor, Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops, Pycnonemosaurus, Quilmesaurus, Viavenator, Deinosuchus, and Therizinosaurus. Tree frog DNA was added for the Indominus to adapt to the tropical climate of Isla Nublar, but it instead added the ability for the animal to remove her thermal signature, which confused most of the heat-based infrared cameras.

The Indominus Rex project was initially started in 2012, after Jurassic World had received a decreased guest count throughout 2011. Two I. rex were meant to be kept in their own paddock that had walls with a height of 40 feet. However, the older Indominus cannibalized her own sibling and would also attack the workers of her paddock as well. 3 weeks before the Indominus was due to be released to the public, Simon Masrani visited the paddock to check it's progress. After suggesting that they have Owen Grady inspect the enclosure, the Indominus began scheming. Upon visiting, Owen realized the severe lack of the Indominus, and the staff were launched into a panic. Although being highly unbelievable, scratch marks scattered the wall of the enclosure, suggesting that it may have climbed out. However, once Owen and 2 other staff members go in to investigate, the Indominus attacks, having set the claw marks as a distraction. As the workers flee, they open the door to escape, but the Indominus manages to break through before it fully closed. The Indominus, now free, wreaked Havoc across the park. That night, Owen and his team would set out to track down the beast, only for his raptors to turn against him themselves. Eventually, the I. rex was drawn to main street, where the Tyrannosaur was released to fight against it. The battle was close, but the I.rex stepped to close to the marine lagoon, prompting the Mosasaur to lunge from the water, taking it down beneath the waves.
