Description
[i ]AFV AST-10 "Shepard" is a tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) created in 1968 on the chassis of the MGT–70 "Holzstamm" MBT base. The Engel-1 combat module is installed on the tank body, equipped with an automatic 45mm AUT-45 cannon and a Migraine-2S ATGM complex in the amount of 4 units and a range of up to 3 km. The creation of this kind of equipment was supplied by the Ministry of Defense Brick Rigs in 1964. The Autouas concern, being the main supplier of military equipment, began the development of the AST series based on the MBT 70 mass MBT. The project won the tender for the main tank support vehicle in 1967 and began to enter service with BRAF. Of the shortcomings of the car, one can single out poor booking and means of protection, but it boasts weapons, a stabilizer and aiming angles. [/i]
