Being one of the most ubiquitous 4th-generation fighters to enter service back in the early 1980's, it only made sense that East Germany, the eastern frontier nation of the Warsaw Pact, was equipped with some of the latest technology to come out of the Soviet Union.
Only entering service with the LSSK in 1988, the MiG-29A had a short service life with the East Germans, being handed over to the Luftwaffe on October 2 1990 as part of the final stages of German reunification that occured gradually from 1989 to 1991. It would see service for another 12 years in the Luftwaffe until the final units were retired in 2003.
This build features an accurate four-tone camouflage pattern and East German Air Force insignia in correct proportions.
