Chicago CTA '5000 Series' Subway Train

The 5000 series is the current backbone of the Chicago L, with over 700 railcars built between 2009 & 2015. Though the more modern 7000 series cars have recently started regular service, the 5000s are still the most numerous on the network today and the most built of any class, though again the 7000s have more than that ordered and under construction.

Built by Bombardier transportation, The 5000's car-body look nearly identical to the 3200 series, but the 5000s introduced many modern features like LED signs and AC traction. Like all CTA rolling stock, they come in a married pair & have an unusually short wheelbase, required to navigate the incredibly tight turn 90-foot turn radius in the loop.

This creation features 1:1 scale blueprint measured proportions, opening doors, and the most accurate interior i've ever done :) this is my first build to take advantage of the complete rework of brick scaling in this game! I actually started this about a month ago and finished quickly, but i had to wait for the release of scalable wheels to upload, and then of course yesterday we got the news that decimal scaling was officially added, so i ended up spending all day upgrading everything to the new standard, though i still have the old file without any decimal scaling if anyone hates the new system and wants me to upload it!

controls like any other of my trains, w/s accumulated throttle and fire1 to brake.

To allow full speed forward and backward, drive in manual and never go above gear 1!

this little creation was made with love to my best friend alex, to all of my favorite memories exploring the city with her, and all the countless hours i've spent listening to her ramble about all her favorite train facts. i would not be who or where i am today without her <3 (i know you'll never see this cuz you don't play this game but i can't help but gush a lil bit lol... :3 thank ya for everything!!)
