1983 Safari Rustler

THE STORY OF THE VEHICLE

i made a 428 cubic inch motor while trying to make a 291 cubic inch v8 and needed a vehicle for it 💀

MOTOR COMPANY STORY OF THE CAR

Safari wanted a vehicle that could keep up with the competition as they were falling behind and only going with small low powered motors except for the supers they had in the later 70s that they built slightly after the idea. So they went to work on the super series and the first motor designed was then put straight to work on it. Little did they know it would take them almost 19 years to complete. The motor was a 428 cubic inch carbureted motor with tons of horsepower and torque. About a year later, the lead designer was talking and said "you know, we need a car to put this thing into. Why should we have all this power, and have nothing to use it in except for trucks and small cars?" So off to work they went on the design of the rustler and put just about every little thing they could thing of to make it the fastest best handling car of all of safari. Tons of testing went into the car as they worked countless days and nights on it, and even ended up cutting design production down for some things to focus on this car and motor, as they wanted it to be proven reliable and strong. Soon it was 1982 and the car was complete. The main boss fell in love of the sleek futuristic design of the car, and went into production with a blink of an eye.

During the prototypes of this car, a designer for safari known as James Shotgun was working on paint when he stumbled accost on accident while a painter started painting from the top to bottom with a regular base safari red on a primer gray body car. The idea struck him at the sight and went to work designing this new version of the car. Soon the other designers was very fond of this look along with everyone else, and decided to name that car an edition for his great work of designing already, and they called it the Shotgun Rustler

The alpine edition was created by a designer who loved the slopes and muscle cars. He went to work with his other co-workers, even including James Shotgun, with a sleek greenish-blue they called "midnight green" with a gold yellow color called "wood gold" trim and roof with an different inspiration instead of the t top. They made wing doors that folded up instead of opening like a normal door, and made the whole car more insulated for the wintry conditions. They modified the suspension, designed a classic rim specifically for this car, and added a different designed tail light to include that it was an true Alpine Edition. The boss loved this and they all agreed of calling it the alpine edition for specifically the slopes.
