Russian MBT of the T-72 family. The T-72B3 modification was developed as a mass-produced and cost-effective alternative to the main T-90A tank. It represents a relatively simple and efficient upgrade of the T-72B, bringing some parameters up to the level of the T-90A. The tank is equipped with the multi-channel PNM “Sosna-U” sight, developed by the Belarusian company OJSC “Peleng” and manufactured by the Vologda JSC “VOMZ”[9], which includes an automatic target tracking system (ATS) and a thermal imaging channel with a Thales Catherine FC camera[10][11]. The fire control system retains the TPD-K1 sight of the 1A40 complex from the T-72B. The commander’s sight is the TKN-3MK, a modernized version of the Soviet TKN-3 sight with the “Double” system and a 2nd generation image intensifier. The driver received the TVN-5 night binocular observation device.
