Dale Earnhardt's 2000 Winston 500 Winning Car (RACE DAMAGE)

The Date is October 15th, 2000, and Bobby Labonte comes into talladega with the points lead. However, a certain man is sitting second in points, and is still mathematically eligable to win his 8th title. He won the fall race last year, and has also won 9 times at Talladega. So, Who is this guy?

Dale Earnhardt Born on April 29th, 1951 in a town you literally couldn't even find on a map, He always wanted to race, and follow in the footsteps of his father, Ralph Earnhardt. Ralph was a short track ace, even being able to get a NASCAR Sportsman Series Title in 1956, but Dale was always told by his father not to race because it was dangerous, and that Ralph only did it for the extra money. Dale, however, was extremely passionate about racing, and even against his father's wishes, he would convince his father to race an old 1951 Ford Victoria, that was pink! Dale would go on to have more short track success, however his father would never even be able to see him enter the second tier series of NASCAR, dying of a heart attack. However, he would move on easily, and start a few races in the NASCAR Cup Series throughout the mid to late 1970s at charlotte and other bigger events. He would finally secure a ride with Ron Osterlund in the #2 Car, which he would run throughout 1979, including leading the Daytona 500 that year, he would also go on to win a race at Bristol Motor Speedway, and win Rookie of the Year, a very prestigious achievement considering the rookie class for that year was filled full of drivers that would go on to collect 10 championships. After this, he would go on to win the 1980 Winston Cup Championship. IN HIS ROOKIE SEASON! After this however, he would go on to have a tough time finding good rides, going from 1 year with Richard Childress Racing, and then to Bud Moore, getting his absolute worst years as a driver throughout this time. However, Richard would invite him back in a now revitalized #3 car, that had been driven by Ricky Rudd, and would go on to dominate the late 80's and early 90's, as the most chaotic evil driver in the field, and also being stupidly consistent too, even while wrecking literally every other driver at least once, directly or indirectly. After 20 years of trying, he would win the Daytona 500, and he also won 7 Winston Cup Championships, 1980, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993, and 1994. In 1999, he would win at Talladega and Bristol, notching a couple wins last year. Also, earlier in 2000, Dale Earnhardt would win the Cracker Barrel 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, being one of only very few drivers to ever collect 75 wins in their career. Now, with all of the context out of the way, lets move on to October 15th, 2000...

The 2000 Winston 500 Dale Earnhardt has a really good race today, leading for most of it and it seemed like he was poised to win the whole race, however Dale would fumble in the later stages of the race, after handling problems and a very badly timed caution, Dale looked as if he was out of it, done, and even not a factor to win, in 16th place. However, Dale knew that the package was in his favor, since drafting and passing was quicker than ever before. He had a chance. Even dale said in the post race interview, "I thought I didn't have a chance starting where we did on that restart" (Dale Earnhardt, 2000). This was the moment that Dale would make history, and one-up all of his achievements in stock car racing with one last show. After starting towards the middle of the pack, he makes the move to the middle, getting by Matt Kenseth turning his Ford Taurus into a Ford Tractor. After this, he would get by more and more people, and then with 2 laps to go, he finally broke into the open air in the middle lane. He would finally begin side drafting his own son, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and rival in the championship Bobby Labonte. On the backstretch, he motions for fellow driver of the #55 car Kenny Wallace to push him. From here, it was too late. Bobby Labonte, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and everybody else was powerless to stop Mr. Restrictor Plate, Dale Earnhardt. He made 15 passes in just 4 laps, he didn't even need the final lap! "Dale Earnhardt Sr. would go on to win a record breaking, career building, and legacy solidifying 10th Talladega Race" (EllyProductions49). He would go on to be pompous in his post race interview, because not only did he win a 2.7 million dollar prize purse, but also a 1 million dollar bonus due to him being eligible for the Winston Million cash prize. After this race, he would never win another race, and the car you are looking at right now, is the car that brought him to his 76th career win...

Author's Note: Dale Earnhardt This is the most anticipated creation I've ever wanted to upload, thanks to Rippin_rd1 with getting all the hard stuff done for it, including the chassis, roof number, and the body, I just made the big scheme on top of it, which by the way, I hope you think looks really nice. Rippin also did a fantastic job on the interior, and rims, which I absolutely love. Seriously, I hope you all enjoy the hell out of this car, your support and long waiting has just paid off. I know I sound like a broken record, but thank you guys SO MUCH, and if you're in a tough situation, I just want to let you know that you will get out of it, just like me earlier last year, as I've been stuck in a kind of limbo with family, sports and school, and I finally had some time to put this out to the world, and probably won't be able to in the near future, so if this does really well, I will consider coming back and doing more creations on the workshop, this time as solo projects, not just with another awesome person. Again, don't take this as a solo effort, another guy also put his sweat, blood and tears into this car, and I want you guys to give Rippin_rd1 as much thanks as me, as this car literally wouldn't have been as good as it is without him. I also want to take this to apologize for the terrible quality of last year's car, that was embarrassing and I needed to make something fast because the deadline was fast approaching, however this car has been in the works for exactly 1 month, and now its here!
