IS-2 mod. 1944

The IS-2 is a second generation Soviet heavy tank, made to combat heavy German armor, as the KV series of tanks was becoming obsolete as German vehicles got more firepower. It was an upgrade to the IS-1, which its main armament was deemed to be underpowered as German armor became bigger overtime. The IS-2, was equipped with a 122mm main gun, which proved to be very powerful for its time, along with well rounded cast armor, made to be easy to produce.

This is the 1944 model, with improved frontal armor, that is now one uniform upper plate sloped at 60 degrees, along with a cupola mounted DHsK machine gun for light anti air use, and reliability improvements.
