Island Info:
The Island of Little Cascadia, often called Cascadia Island, is located in the Pacific Ocean near the mouth of the Columbia River, which forms the boundary between the states of Washington and Oregon.
The island has been inhabited since the late 1840's, but a defined settlement emerged in the early 1860's which is now the main town of Badgerville.
A rural farming community based around the town of Ridgefield was founded in the 1880's and serves as the primary source of agricultural produce on the island.
With a total island population of just over 600 the island of Little Cascadia offers a slower pace of life on the tranquil Pacific North-West Coast.
Features:
There is an extensive list of locations and features, so just the main ones will be listed here.
- Dock with ferry terminal along with working dock cranes.
- Functioning Lighthouses & Island Heliport
- Enterable Dealership & Two Gas Stations
- Enterable School & Town Hall
- Two enterable Fire Departments
- An enterable Police Department & Sheriff's Office
- Enterable Medical Clinic/Hospital
- Miscellaneous enterable stores.
- Ridgefield Speedway (Race Track)
- Island loop Railroad Line
And many more locations and points of interest!
Controls:
Main Seat: The main seat's only control is for the island's street lighting. This is activated using the 'L' (Headlights) Key.
Dock Crane Seats: The two dock cranes simply use the right arrow keys for left/right and up/down movements. A switch on the control panel allows for the extension/retraction of the winch rope.
Everything Else: The island has numerous switches, mostly around enterable structures, that control features such as interior & exterior building light and the opening/closing of doors.
The Railroad crossing signals can also be manually operated by use of a switch in nearby electrical boxes.
Personal Notes:
This has been an enjoyable project, one which I started back in August of 2025.
I didn't originally have a huge scope for this map when I started working on it. I started it out of inspiration and mostly boredom. The Island just kept growing and I went with it. Not the worst thing that could of happened.
I thank everyone for all their support with the creation of this build. Whether that was for contributions, ideas/suggestions and for play-testing the map.

Other Thanks
From day one I've been building this map in a friends-only server, so plenty of friends (and their friends) have joined me.
First and foremost my thanks goes to Glacier Dog 1500. His original (private) Badgerville map is what inspired me to start making the island. I thank him for the use of the name and the various ideas and suggestions he has made over the course of development. I also thank him for the countless hours he has spent playing/testing the map.

Disclaimers
Usage: Before people complain about the performance of this map, the map was made on a higher-end PC. So this map is unfortunately not ideal for lower-end PC's. Although, many of the people who have tested this map, even on some lower end PC's, haven't complained of any issues with the map itself but rather the state of the server once quite a few builds have been spawned afterwards.
That reason is primarily why I also do not recommend to use this map for larger multiplayer servers.
Railroad: The island does contain a full railroad loop, but this is mostly cosmetic. It is however still possible to use certain trains on the track. Two vehicles tested on this track I recommend are: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3028036152&searchtext=Brick+Rigs+train (Although not the most realistic train available, this train works surprisingly well) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3255113924&searchtext=Tram (Ok, so this isn't a train. But it does work very well on this map, especially since its top speed is just about the maximum speed you can take the tracks corners.)
Lights/signals: The traffic lights are not currently functional, and the Railroad crossing signals are not automated (manual control) This is something that may change in the future. Automated systems being created and used for both are possible.
Ferry Dock: Not really a disclaimer, but here's the ferry that is featured in the first screenshot. Works well with the island and its ferry terminal. All credits to the creator of this. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3225942675&searchtext=Ferry
