DAF 95 TurboTwin X1 (1988)

Made for Brick Rigs' Dakar Contest of 2026

Attention! Due to lack of time, I had to release the unfinished version. It lacks some details, but has already got all the necessary features. I will update it someday after the contest ends. In addition, if I feel like it’s worth it, I will make a lowbrick version for multiplayer as well (this one is NOT multiplayer friendly 💀)

A truck too fast for Dakar.

The DAF 95 TurboTwin X1 is widely considered the most extreme and fastest rally truck ever built. Designed and driven by the Dutch trucking legend Jan de Rooy, it featured two triple-turbocharged engines producing 610 horsepower each. It was capable of hitting around 230 kilometers per hour on loose sand. Due to a fatal crash of its sister vehicle, the X2, on the 8th stage of 1988 Dakar, DAF team together with Jan de Rooy retired from rallying (until Jan’s comeback in 2002). It ended the era of trucks challenging top-tier rally cars – many limitations were introduced after the tragedy.

Features:

• realistic looks (exterior and interior)
• realistic handling
• realistic lighting
• possibility to deatach and attach side panels (and the top one)
• realistic suspension

Cons:

• too many bricks (2,8k)
• awful welds
• generally unfinished due to lack of time, update shall come in the future

In-game statistics: Max speed: 230 kph Estimated stability border: 150 kph Power/torque: yes/yes Crew members: 3 Brick count: 2,800 + lots of dynamic parts (will lag)
