"It started small, a tiny cluster of mushrooms. Everytime I came down there to tighten the bolts on the ballast pump, I saw the cluster and thought nothing of it. After a while I started naming each shroom out of boredom. That's when I realised they are spreading. The pump requires extra juice to operate now, but the cap insisted we are preserving the mushrooms for science. There won't be much science left when the pump clogs with the spores with the sub plunging into the abyss..."
