The crew of the Thule follows the way of Trenklin, a fanatic religious deviation from the Renegades following the doctrine of the proclaimed messiah Trenklin. Trenklin believed that there will be a 2nd reckoning for all of Europa just as it met the aliens ages ago.

Trenklin:

Trenklin was an archeologist on Europa and found his revelation when he was translating old alien hieroglyphs. He believed the glyphs described a process in which the aliens managed to ascend into a higher plain of existence. This process he named organic synergy, in which a mysterious device was needed to fuse multiple beings into one being. His experiments on life humans subject were soon to be discovered by the authorities, but that didn't stop word from spreading. Soon Trenklin would win many followers who believed with him in a reckoning for all of humanity, only to be shot by Coalition officers shortly after. His followers proclaimed him a messiah and what followed was persecution for all of his followers. The Renegades turned this into their advantage and made a deal with the followers of the newly founded faith. Service for safety they called it. Many followers accepted and started serving on board of Renegade vessels.
