Takari Autonomous Transport

Originally designed for the Exathra, the Takari shuttle is a capable light transport vessel. Specially outfitted to operate independently this sub is a suitable choice for a crew on a budget. Equipped with extra supplies, an improved oxygen generator, and a small deconstructor. It's main drawback is the lack of a nuclear reactor. This is partially mitigated by the large battery, which allows the Takari to pass through natural formations and distant locations before having to dock and re-charge.

Features:

• Stealth Mode Activated from a button in the command room, Stealth Mode will deactivate all external lights, close a blast door over the forward window and throttle the engine's power to 24% allowing the ship to operate without generating any sound or light. The ship can be powered down in stealth mode, making it ideal for keeping the ship safe during EVA missions.

• Discharge Coils Mounted on the top and bottom of the sub to dislodge unwanted passengers, activated from the navigation terminal. The discharge coils share a super capacitor with the coil guns.

• Mini Deconstructor Located in the electrical room, the ship has a small deconstructor to allow deconstruction of mined materials and scrap harvested from wrecks.

• Decoy Tube Activated from a button in the command room, the ship is loaded with 2 decoys that can be dropped to lure creatures away from the sub. Extra helpful when used in Stealth Mode.

• Powered Docking The sub receives power from the primary docking ports. When docked to stations the batteries can be shutdown to speed up recharge time. Systems that are powered from the docking port are: Batteries, oxygen generator, deconstructor, and airlock/ballast pumps.

• Emergency Flood Door There is an automatic door that closes when the front window is broken. It can be overridden to allow the front section to be repaired/drained with an override button next to the window.

This was originally a shuttle for my large ship the Exathra, but I found it to be pretty fun as a sort of "Challenge mode" for campaigns. It can also be purchased for very cheap in case you manage to make it to the end of the level... but your sub does not. The cargo space and lack of a need for fuel rods can help grind money back faster to buy a proper sub. I added the deconstructor because stations don't have them, and also because it seemed reasonable that a mining transport would be able to break down the minerals it gathers. If you want to fabricate things though, you will have to use stations. Recommended for a fairly experienced crew looking for a challenge.
