Based on museum ship Wilhelm Bauer (U-2540). An XXI Class submarine designed just before the end of the second world war and became the template for most cold war submarines. Comes with an EMC Jewel, a mining and salvage shuttle.

Mods required: None, but meaningful upgrades is recommended to boost sonar range.

Features:

-Singleplayer tailored experience. Attention to detail on AI behavior, centralized control and inventory management. -Dual propulsion. Silent running mode engages small creeper (shuttle) engines in the for and aft compartment that are more efficient, run purely on batteries and are quieter (theoretically). Normal operation requires operation of at least one reactor to power the main engine. -Crash Dive. Floods the bow storage compartment and shuttle for rapid emergency dives. -Blow Ballast. Engages emergency pumps in the ballast tanks to evacuate all water. Will run until emergency ballast runs out and an alarm will sound. -A fierce forward armament. Designed a commerce raider, the XXI has an incredible offensive arsenal of up to 24 torpedos (rail gun shells) fired from 6 tubes. -Five turreted FlaK Zwilling (double fire rate) coil guns. -Easy bow storage access through bow hatch -Linked machinery. Both deconstructors linked to 2 scrap lockers and fabricator will automatically draw materials from scrap. -BOLD or Ubold, originally used as decoys for destroyer escorts. Holds 5 reloads of depth charges or decoys. -H²O² boost. A early blueprint of the XXI called for hydrogen peroxide propulsion as a means to temporarily boost underwater mobility. -Automatic battery regulation. -Reactors are externally regulated via Teo's Auto Reactor 2.1 design. Special thanks. -Dual ammo coilgun loaders. Can use mixed ammo belts. -Automatic oxygen generator control. -Power cutoffs and detonators in each ballast tank for dealing with flora. -Advanced flooding control. Most rooms are designed to drain into ballast tanks providing up to 4 large pumps for damage control. Rooms critical to operation are sealed when ballast becomes overwhelmed. The sub can remain buoyant even during large hull breeches. -A small shuttle docked on the aft deck. Very nimble and easy to extract material and items from wrecks. Can dock at the forward hatch to drop cargo directly into storage. Operating instructions in pinned post. -Creeper engines in silent running mode offer ideal passive sonar 360 degrees around the hull.

-44km/h cruise on reactor power -54km/h with H²O² enabled -23km/h on silent running (battery)

** Dive speed: **

-15km/h standard -24km/h during crash dive

** Battery Endurance: **

132 minutes on full cruise at 23km/h 198 minutes at idle
