EMMA Pod

The External Mining and Maintenance Apparatus is a high mobility, attack resistant, one-man submersible designed to lower the mortality rates amongst mining, maintenance and salvage crews, as well as to extend the operational range of mining and salvage expeditions.

FEATURES:

• Mine and repair while inside the pod.

• Full protection against crawlers, mudraptors and threshers. If encountering hostile creatures, use a handheld weapon and fire from INSIDE the pod.

• Cycle between 3 steering modes:

1. Keyboard movement using WASD. Manoeuvre the pod as you would control your character in water (quite literally). This control mode offers high manoeuvrability and input precision while leaving the mouse free to perform mining and repairs.

2. Camera movement. Using the same system installed on the ROVER, camera guidance allows the pod to travel at greater speeds. (Hold left click to increase throttle, release to decrease.)

3. Navigation terminal. Autopilot may not behave as intended in this case, it is only recommended to engage AP when performing EVA so that the pod will not drift off.

Use the "Cycle Guidance Mode" button on the nav terminal to change steering mode. Light component above console indicates mode: White - Keyboard Red - Camera Blue - Navigation terminal.

INSTALLATION:

EMMA requires a vertical docking hatch installed in an AIRLOCK. Simply link the pod to your custom submarine in the sub editor, no wiring needed.

To open rear door, switch to radio channel 3 and input the word "door" to toggle open/close door.

WARNING: The interior of the pod is NOT depressurised. Diving suits must be worn when entering.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:

When undocking and opening/closing the door after EVA, it is strongly recommended for the operator to be sitting in the chair to prevent glitching through the hull.
