R-37 "Razorback" Cargo Cruiser

An older model in the same family as the R-29, the R-37 is a larger freight vessel. This one in particular has been significantly retrofitted with heavy defenses, but the extra strain on the already obsolete systems necessitates additional maintenance. The outdated design leaves much to be desired; the gunnery compartments are essentially converted utility closets, leaving them cramped and distant from each other.

Additions include an Emergency Reactor Computer (PID), which disables all non-essential power to maximize combat efficiency and allow the crew to focus on defenses. Non-essential power - including lights, diving lockers, crafting, and the mineral scanner - can also be manually disabled if desired. The E.R.C. cannot operate while the backup batteries are operational.

Heavily armed, the R-37 bears a large railgun mounted to the bow, and four twin-coilgun turrets arranged to cover the entire vessel. The coilguns fire slightly slower, but stagger, resulting in an overall higher fire rate than a single gun, but using more power. Be very careful when swapping any of the weapons; swapping smaller weapons in place of the railgun may mess up the firing angles, and since the twin guns all have mutually linked loaders, you have to swap both guns in every turret.
