ECM YAMANTAU

Description

The Yamantau first appeared as a blueprint submitted by Evcom to the Europa Coalition's Heavy Shipping Office (HSO) for construction approval. Two hours later the schematic was in the hands of the office's superintendent. Within minutes he was on the phone with the Office of Oversight and Compliance (OOC) to report a suspicious commission from Evcom.

The Commercial Arms Limitation Treaty (CALT) limits the number of military vessels that a given member corporation of the coalition can have, and--by extension--the number of weapons that non-military vessels can mount. The Superintendent called the OOC because the Yamantau could potentially mount far more than the permitted number of weapons for a ship of its class and tonnage. But, due to a loophole within CALT, the Yamantau was not found to be in violation of treaty. The commission was granted and the Yamantau was constructed.

Armament

When originally commissioned, the Yamantau had an autocannon and 2 ssl laundhers. Evcom has steadily upgraded its weaponry, which has led Europa Coalition's Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Intelligence Office (SRIO) to intensify tracking efforts and develop an interdiction contingency plan.

The Yamantau has the following armament: 1x Autocannon 2x Medium SSL launchers 1x Light Chaingun 1x Acoustic Kinetic Pulse 3x Standard Hardpoints 1x Spinal Hardpoint 1x Auxilliary SSL Launcher
