Описание автора

Author's note:

This assembly is kinda silly. It adds a lot of complexity, and doesn't do anything the HUD or the status monitor can't do already. Still, contains a few useful ideas that can be adapted for other purposes. An interesting wiring exercise, but I wouldn't use it personally.

Voice-activated circuit that gives you a general impression of the state of your submarine's systems. Contains basic building blocks and examples on how to connect everything. You can set it up however you want; group all items of a single type, combine different components from a single hull section, or give key components their own line in the report.

Comes in two variants, though it's easy to combine both methods if you want:

Simple Version

Will show the percentage condition of each connected item (or the average condition for multiple ones).

Knowing the exact number is not that useful, since it's generally enough to know whether something needs repairs or is completely broken. Also, the average numbers can be misleading (a single broken junction box might cripple your ship, while the report still says "80%"). The other version is more useful in that regard:

Improved Version

Each element of the circuit looks at the combined signals of all connected items, and will report the lowest present condition:

  • It will say "OK" if none of the components need to repaired (above 50% or 80% repair threshold)
  • It will report "Damaged" if any component is below repair threshold, but all are still working
  • It will report "Disabled" if any component is completely broken down (regardless of the condition of the rest) (Or whatever message you enter in the output fields)

This version is also more efficient and uses fewer components if you have many items to connect.

Thanks to Coretapper for the color component idea!
