Isopod

The Isopod is a compact mining vessel that offers a unique playstyle. The design includes a highly efficient, albeit low output "cold reactor". This reactor runs below conventional reactor temps, allowing for it to consume fuel 25% as quickly as conventional reactors. The efficiency comes at a cost though. The reactors output is unable to keep up with the load of all onboard systems running at once. To supplement this, two batteries provide additional power. Over the course of a mission, the batteries drain. Which necessitates frequent stops to allow for them to recharge. Along with the unusual power management aspect, this sub also has an external engine. Despite it being waterproof, the engine still needs occasional maintenance. Crew members must leave the sub to repair it.

This sub focuses largely on avoiding conflict instead of facing it. There are switches inside to turn of systems for power management and stealth. Things like lights, the reactor, and even O2 can be turned off to reduce the amount of noise produced by the sub.

Also includes a shuttle variant for those that want it as a respawn shuttle.

NOTES This design works largely because of edited item values. If you want to make it easier to use, boost reactor output in the sub editor and increase battery capacity. This is largely a flavor sub that caters to a very specific playstyle.

Many people are confused on how the sub works. Namely the engine and ballast tank. The Isopod has a single open ballast that also doubles as the airlock access. You will often have to wade through water to enter the airlock. The engine is a scaled shuttle engine with properties scaled to fine-tune the power management aspect of the sub.

The double coilgun looks too big to comply with the landing feet, but I promise it's accounted for :)
