U-42C

U-42C:

Commissioned by the Coalition during it's early days, the U-42 was used as a transit submarine to get workers from and to the mines and other outpost build sites. A few years of service later and the U-42 was decommissioned and found it's way onto the scrapyard. A group of friends who worked there decided to customize it rather than destroy it. They exchanged the seating area with engineering devices, repaired old systems and slapped a big old C behind it's name, creating the U-42C scout vessel.

Features:

The U-42C comes with 2 large turret hardpoints and 2 small turret hardpoints, 3 electrical discharge coils, a fabricator, a medical fabricator and a deconstructor. It has 2 engines and 2 ballast pumps to keep you somewhat manouverable if one get's destroyed. Almost all electrical components are unlocked and reachable to be uninstalled, rewired or extended upon. The exterior lights can be toggled into 3 different states (blink, always on, off)

Campaign:

Balanced for a campaign playthrough. You'll need to buy upgrades to get the most out of this vessel. But your reactor will never be perfect and may still struggle if weapons are recharging while the engines go full throttle!

AI:

The U-42C is designed to be played in a campaign with friends. Bots will struggle with accessing certain areas like the reactor room and engine room, if they don't have the applicable job and they're unable to fire the back turret as it's technically inside the hull, letting the AI think they'll hit their own submarine if they start firing. So in case you want to play singleplayer or a 2 player co-op session, there's a tweaked version included (read further below)

Also included is a variant of U-42C called [noparse]"U-42C [B]"[/noparse] that increases bot compatibility for singleplayer or 2 player co-op sessions by removing restricted access to the reactor and engine rooms and moving the back turret further out, as the AI wouldn't be able to shoot otherwise. Also diving suit lockers have been connected to power in this variant.
