This submarine's blueprints were accidentally discovered by one of the first expeditions into the alien ruins that populate the oceans of Europa in 2154. To everyone's surprise, the document was written in plain English, dated 2999 and signed by one H.J. Farnsworth. Although this event created many conspiracy theories about the nature of the alien predecessors that inhabitated Europa, not a single relic recovered afterwards was even remotely similar to this artifact. Originally, the blueprints suggest that the vessel was called "Planet Express" and designed to transport cargo between different solar systems. However, due to lack of materials required - namely the "dark matter" fuel - it was deemed impossible to recreate. The design was later simplified and adapted as a submarine, owing its name "Europa Express" to the mysterious blueprints. Despite the "cargo ship" designation found in the original version, the vessel's storage is designed to be exceedingly small. This led Europan bureaucrats to assign this ship as an Assault class submarine instead.
