The J.O.S.U.N is aimed to be a Tier 3 vanilla sub alternative with better performance and easier operation after being fed up with the Winterhalter while preserving a near vanilla gaming experience. It is made to be highly capable, but not invincible still kinda OP tho .

The “Jupiter Optimized Submarine Utility Navigator” aka J.O.S.U.N is a fully equipped Tier 3 scout class submarine designed by the Aphotic Plateau Biomedica Ltd. to explore and navigate the depths of Europa’s ocean. Fitted with R&D equipment including a research table, cargo space that can rival a transporter, and the firepower to defend the crew and valuables aboard.

Stowage and equipment

Cabinets, supply boxes and various equipment are installed in the following locations:

Diving suits are stored behind standardised units, together with oxygen tanks and battery charger. All powered to recharge respective items.

Power

---

The reactor is a modified with advanced circuitry to have instant respond to output demand. Fuel and battery indicators are installed on both sides of the observation window for convenience. Running with 4 fuel rods is recommended.

Two levers are installed here in case of:

• Emergency Shutdown Ejects fuel rods and disable the reactor, downward to activate

• Manual Control Disconnect circuitry to allow reactor full manual control, upward is manual

CAUTION: The vanilla auto control within the reactor interface must be OFF for the advance circuitry to function. Do not assign AI to manage the reactor.

Beneath the reactor panel sits 6 batteries forming 3 modules:

• Module A & B *Auxiliary power / provides power in silent mode, charge rate adjustable, 50% up recommended *

• Power buffer module Absorbs excessive power to minimise junction box damage, transfer charge back to module A & B for future use, not charged

Navigation and control

The navigation terminal is integrated into the control panel, which also house other functions:

• Discharge Coil Connected to navigation terminal

• Depth Charge Connected to navigation terminal

• Turbo Mode Boost acceleration and deceleration, top speed up to 39 km/h

• Silent Mode Shutdown reactor and noisy equipment, run on battery power to avoid detection

• Prisoner Lock Lock all doors of front cargo compartment to function as prison, downward is on

• Hostile Sensor Siren sounds when hostile creatures come near the ship, downward is on

• Surveillance Centre Click interface to cycle between cameras

• Hazard warning Flood * Reactor meltdown * Hostile detection * fire

On the left 4 indicators display the following:

• Reactor fuel Total percentage of fuel inside the reactor, 4 full fuel rods =100%, 1 full fuel rod = 25%

• Power buffer Charge level of power buffer module, should be kept at empty/ near empty

• Battery Module A Battery level of Module A, more is better, keep track when running in silent mode

• Battery Module B Battery level of Module B, more is better, keep track when running in silent mode

Weapons and ammunition

All gun controls are located at the gun deck. To access the 6 railgun shell racks, simply press W and S to go up and down the platform.

With exception to the railgun periscope (right), the loader’s position corresponds to the periscope position i.e. Left most periscope’s ammo goes to left most loader.

The 2 depth charge loader is equipped with indicator lights and launch button

• No light Loader empty

• Red light Charge loaded, ready to launch

• Green light Depth charge launching

Alternatively, depth charge can be launched from the navigation terminal on the bridge.

Monitor and surveillance

A navigation terminal is installed on the top deck, allows other crew members to read sonar without interfering the captain.

3 periscopes are connected to the searchlights around the ship, left click to cycle through searchlights.

Surveillance centres and status monitors are installed around the ship. Click interface to cycle through cameras.

Shuttle

---

Shuttle is entirely battery powered, always ensure there’s enough charge before departure. Crouch (Ctrl) to fit into airlock.

It can be remotely controlled from the bridge, flip lever downward to override onboard control.
