Coeus

Have you ever wanted to get a good look at the horrors of the void while at the helm of your ship? Well, this sub allows you to do just that with a conveniently placed giant glass window in its command room. Why didn't anyone think of that before?

The ASP-7 Coeus is a tier 3 Scout sub intended to act as a mobile research and survey station. As such, it is slower, larger and more vulnerable than other scout class vessels. However, it makes up for it with plenty of monitoring and quality of life features that will make your crew's life a bit easier without trivializing the game.

My intention with this ship was to make an advanced and sophisticated "sciency" sub while retaining a vanilla feel in both looks and gameplay. The Coeus' size is its biggest strength by making it harder to sink, and its biggest weakness, making it easier to attack and requiring a larger crew to man it.

The ship has been mostly tested and should work well with bots, although most QOL features will be more appreciated by actual players. Since this is my largest sub, and I'm sadly not perfect there might still be a couple of hidden wrinkles to iron out, do let me know if you find anything.

Features and quirks:

-Large, panoramic and extremely vulnerable command room. -Tons of monitoring systems, including condition monitors, reactor data screens, turret monster proximity lights, and more. -Full fabrication capabilities, including a research lab. -The Integral Hull Discharge (IHD) System provides full discharge coil coverage to the entire submarine exterior. -High coverage spotlights to aid crewmembers doing EVA (Periscope by ainrhyr). -Safety tools like an emergency fixfoam detonator in the command room and a spotlight off switch (many monsters can see searchlights and turret lights, making it harder to sneak past them or distract them with a decoy). -Automatic smart charge system for batteries and supercaps to prevent junction fires. -Smart ballast Flora cutoff (By Paul Mighty). -Small drone with integrated camera, depth charge tube, a container accessible to the crew both in and out of the sub. -Interior surveillance cameras. -Dedicated hydroponics room. -Comfortable but atmospheric lighting. -Vanilla-like styling and design. -A funky jukebox. -And probably some other stuff!

Description: The Advanced Survey Platform "Coeus" is a large vessel designed specifically to collect data from the depths of Europa's seas. The ship is equipped with an inboard research lab, a small scout drone and lots of monitoring equipment. Although mobile for its size and respectably armed, the Coeus is meant to operate under the escort of smaller attack vessels, otherwise being forced to rely on its innovative integral hull discharge system to survive against hostile fauna.
