Neuroplus

This mod is designed to exist as a middle ground between Neurolite and Neurotrauma. It's a fork of Neurotrauma modified extensively to act more like Neurolite, featuring more forgiving medical tools and additional configuration options to ensure the mod works just the way you want it to.

• denotes configs that will add things that require specialized medical tools like stents or implants to fix. Afflictions that are easy to treat, like dislocations that can be treated with a wrench, don't count for this.

Most important changes:

• Arterial bleeds don't need an endovascular balloon to treat. Just open them up with surgery, insert a stent, close them up, bleed is gone.
• Medical items from Neurolite are added, such as nutrient packs that slowly heal your organs, healing pods that passively heal almost every affliction and stabilize the patient while they are lying in it, stasis pods that you can shove a patient into and wait 5-10mins for a full heal even from the most horrific situations where all other hope is lost, and more.
• QoL changes like many medical items stacking in cabinets so you can store much more of them, such as spinal repair kits.
• Starter crates spawn in greater amounts (3-5 per medical cabinet on the submarine/map) and have more useful supplies allowing you to readily treat patients right from the start of the round.
• Default config is set to relatively easy settings but can be tweaked at any time by the host. Apply your changes to the config then type reloadlua into the console, this will lag for a moment as your lua mods get reloaded.

Guide: Treating afflictions with medicine

• Burn: Use bandages
• Infected wound / inflammation: use antiseptic, if inflammation stays, you have to remove foreign bodies via surgery
• Internal organ damage (heart/lungs/kidney/liver): Nutrient packs and/or thiamine
• Acidosis: Cause vomiting or use ringer's solution
• Alkalosis: Use saline or ringer's solution Warning: Ringer's Solution causes high blood pressure which can be dangerous
• High blood pressure: Use an empty blood pack to extract blood, or use nitroglycerin
• Low blood pressure: Use ringer's solution, blood packs, or saline
• Respiratory/cardiac arrest: Do CPR or give the patient an autopulse vest Warning: Wearing the autopulse for too long can cause high blood pressure or fractured ribs, do not overuse
• Neurotrauma: Use Mannitol (only works if the other organs are in fairly good shape)
• Coma: Treat Neurotrauma
• Hypoxemia: Low oxygen in the blood, use liquid oxygenite and/or restore normal breathing ASAP
• Seizure: Treat Neurotrauma or Acidosis

Surgery

• The target has to be unconscious, sedated with morphine, or under the affects of anesthesia.
• Use a scalpel to open an incision -> wait for Surgical Incision to be at 100 strength.
• Use a hemostat to clamp the bleeding -> wait for Clamped Bleeding to be at 100 strength.
• Use skin retractors to retract the skin -> wait for Retracted Skin to be at 100 strength. Tips:
• You can use a Surgical Multitool to perform all 3 steps instantly.
• To close a surgical incision, use a scalpel.
• To avoid traumatic shock, do surgery next to a healing pod, stasis pod, or operation table.

Now surgery has started. Here is how to then perform different operations:

• Fixing bone damage / fractured ribs / skull: Use a bone drill, then osteosynthesis implants.
• Fixing a broken spine / paralysis: Use a bone drill on the head, then spinal cord implants.
• Organ removal: Use a multipurpose scalpel set to organ extraction mode to extract an organ of your choosing.
• Organ insertion: Insert an organ in place of a missing organ.
• Foreign body removal: Use tweezers until 'inflammation' goes away.
• Aortic rupture: Insert an arterial stent.
• Limb removal: Use a bone saw.
• Limb attachment: Use a bone saw on an amputated limb, as well as a bone drill, then attach a new limb.

I may have missed something but this is everything I can recall off the top of my head. It's a bit of a learning curve but your patients shouldn't die super quickly so you have time to learn. If you are struggling I suggest making a stasis pod so your patients have a Plan B if you can't fix them.
