Someone's blasting a soundpad, destroying your ears, but you can't see who it is? Admin installed a mod that mutes players and someone started screaming? You're spectating and chatting with someone but don't know their username? What to do?

Solution

This mod displays a list of currently speaking players on the right side of the screen with volume bars. Click on any player's bar to open volume settings. That's it.

What it does

[] Shows who is speaking right now [] Click opens volume settings (mute checkbox + 0-200% slider) [] Automatically saves and restores player volumes you configured [] Bars smoothly fade out when someone stops talking

Why you need this

Sometimes you just need to quickly lower someone's volume without digging through menus and guessing which of 15 people is yelling. Especially useful in spectator mode or when other mods hide player nicknames. This is purely convenience - no gameplay advantages, just easier sound control.

Technical details

Fully client-side mod. Works on any server. Settings are saved to game folder and persist between sessions. Uses standard game volume control, so it's compatible with everything. Voice settings are located at:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\Barotrauma\VoiceChatMonitor

Attention!

1. Make sure you have Lua For Barotrauma installed.
2. Restart the game or type cl_reloadluacs in the console.
3. If you experience lags or issues when the mod first loads - it's normal, wait a bit or restart.
4. Linux users might encounter errors, I'm working on fixing this.
