Class Thief

Thief - Custom Class for Barotrauma

An advanced custom class focused on stealing, smuggling, infiltration and loot acquisition. The Thief grows stronger through risk-taking, acquiring valuable items and exploiting opportunities that other crew members would never notice.

This class was designed for long campaign progression and introduces an entirely different playstyle compared to vanilla Barotrauma jobs.

Main Mechanic - Thievery

The Thief uses a custom hidden stat called Thievery, which improves through:

• stealing,

• looting,

• searching containers,

• acquiring valuable items,

• smuggling activities.

The higher your Thievery becomes, the stronger your bonuses grow:

• increased loot,

• higher rare item chance,

• additional XP,

• easier access to locked containers,

• lower detection chance,

• special class effects.

Every 10 levels of Thievery grant +2% stealing chance to a maximum of +20% on level 100.

Unique Talents

Sticky Fingers Allows stealing directly from NPCs and improves stealing efficiency based on your Thievery level.

Manipulation Gift Stealing grants additional XP and increases Thievery progression speed.

Scrap Bonus Searching containers and wrecks grants additional materials and extra loot chances.

Better Loot Lockers, containers and enemy corpses have an increased chance to contain rare items.

Enhanced Loot High Thievery levels unlock chances for epic-quality loot and improved equipment.

Shadow Reduces detection chance while stealing and improves infiltration efficiency.

Deadly Blade Provides bonuses for melee combat and surprise attacks.

Master Fighter Unlocks a more aggressive combat-focused playstyle for advanced thieves.

Master of Thieves A final-tier talent that greatly improves all stealing and loot-related mechanics.

Loot System

The Thief features a dynamic loot system:

• additional items from containers,

• increased rare item chances,

• hidden materials inside loot sources,

• loot quality scaling with class progression.

Some bonuses only unlock at very high Thievery levels.
