The SIDEWINDER

 Originally commissioned as a Deep Diver for the high-risk mining operations of the abyss, the Sidewinder has since found favor as a more practical alternative to the other logistical ships of its class. This particular model is equipped with deployable landing gear, a manned gunship, and a drone. 

DIVING PLATFORM

Playing solo is hard work. If you're like me, you've spent too much time making multiple trips for ore deposits in the abyss. Or sometimes fallen submarines have so much loot that it's just not practical to grab it all. Equipped with a both an autonomous drone and a drivable shuttle, this sub lets you park overhead and grab everything in one easy trip - and pneumatic tubes are strategically installed for easy unloading. The Sidewinder is the gold standard of resource acquisition.

LIKE VANILLA

Modeled after vanilla submarines, the sub is balanced and built for late game campaigns. It fills the role of a more practical Tier 3 transport submarine, with powerful ballasts and a reliable electrical grid - with the drawback of a weak spot on the underbelly. All equipment is well-lit and easily identifiable, all systems are simple and easy to use, and this sub is 100% fully functional with bots. It feels vanilla, but with the benefit of some extra quality-of-life.

QUALITY OF LIFE

The Sidewinder has both the ease of use that small crews need, and the space to accommodate large groups of bots or players. Unlike vanilla subs, bots will try to avoid the reactor room, and there's a convenient storage for a hazmat suit and a PUCS, allowing you to use volatile fulgurium fuel rods without the extra hassle. Comes stock with auto-tracking spotlights around the exterior, ballast cameras, ballast flora modes by ballast, and a heads-up display for the captain. Spacious storage rooms offer ample space for late-game hoarding and also make modded playthroughs much less cumbersome. Emergency lights will automatically kick on when the power runs out. Diving suits are strategically placed around the sub for easy access during emergencies. I've done my best to add extra convenience where I can and hopefully make this sub feel luxurious to use, being a tier 3.
