BaroVoices TTS

BaroVoices TTS is a mod that adds full-featured neural network text-to-speech support to Barotrauma. It reads out messages from players and bots in real time using fast, local Silero models.

You don’t need any third-party programs or bots on Discord—everything works directly within the game and is generated right on your PC/server.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: INSTALLATION

The mod requires initial setup and downloading Python dependencies (voice models). If you simply subscribe in the Workshop, the voice chat will not work.

Mod features:

• A voice for everyone: Players can choose a unique voice model (male or female) and customize it directly in the in-game menu. All settings are automatically synced with other players.

• RU / EN Support: The mod handles both Russian and English text in chat perfectly, automatically switching languages.

• Immersive Sound: Voices are processed by the game. Regular local chat fades away with distance and is muffled by the submarine’s walls.

• Bot voice acting: The submarine’s AI crew also receives random voices and speaks their lines (can be disabled in settings).

• Optimization: The mod can generate sound using either the CPU or the GPU (CUDA) to ensure sound plays instantly without delays.

• Cross-platform: Supports Windows and Linux (including dedicated servers).

Note: Client-Side Lua (Lua For Barotrauma) must be installed and enabled for the mod to work.
