Synthesis

Cave here. So apparently all our test chamber designers went insane because they couldn’t get their puzzles to work properly. So, while they take a week of unpaid leave to cry to their parents about their “compile errors” and “unintended solutions” and other such nonsense, we need more tests. Now, we can’t get the hobos to do it because frankly they have about as many brain cells as my leftover lasagne from two weeks ago. That is to say forty billion, because the lasagne is alive, and it’s coming to eat me. Don’t ask.

Anyway, the problem with our old designers was human fallibility. How do we solve that problem? Robots, of course! Robots solve every problem. I’ve got one working on the lasagne right now. And by working on it I mean distracting it while I record this important message and then run for my life. So, I have given the two co-operative testing robots the chance to design their own test chamber. Whichever bot designs the best test wins, and their chamber will be integrated into Test Shaft Chimera. Whoever loses will be next in line to be fed to the lasagne. What’s that Greg? The robots are working together? You mean to tell me that these co-operative robots have a bond so strong that they are actually co-operating? Darn… Well, I guess it’s the end. The lasagne is coming for me. Pasta la vista, baby. Cave out.

Welcome to Synthesis, a Medium difficulty map made collaboratively by K7 Avenger and Demon Arisen, which focuses on lasers and light bridges. Making a test chamber together was a monumental challenge, involving a ton of hard work, lots of communication and teamwork, and multiple variants and iterations before we settled on this map. It was a challenge, but we think the final result is superlative, and we hope you enjoy it too.

Be sure to check out K7 Avenger's workshop. He's as responsible for creating this great map as I am, if not more so. He makes wonderful puzzles and is one of my favourite authors, and you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not giving his tests a try.
