Leishmaniasis

Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease caused by the Leishmania parasite, and is transmitted by the bite of a sandfly. Misconceptions about sandflies breeding in water are the cause of the absence of Goo ponds. Hence, the danger of contracting leishmaniasis remains.
