"Hey, I've played that puzzle before!"
Why, yes you have! This map is my entry for the Portal Mapping and Modding "Portal 2 Redux" competition, where contestants were meant to choose a puzzle from the main game to rebuild in a different style! If that sounds interesting, be sure to join their Discord server.
I chose to recreate "Polarity," which, as I'm sure you already know, is originally a Wheatley-style chamber. For the new style, I pulled inspiration from several sources to put together this sort of mashup of styles. I would say the three main styles that inspired this map are:
Divide by Mr. Rogers Desolation Industrial Style Art Therapy Style
I hope you enjoy the new(ish) visuals, and the not-so-new puzzle. I have another map in the works in a similar style that is a nice original puzzle. The map is just quite large so it has been a bit of a grind getting it all detailed out. Anyway, look forward to that!
