March 1st, 2022: Judging is complete, and this map got 5th out of 18 entries, overall scoring high in inventiveness. Thanks to Thinking with Portals for hosting this competition! I certainly had some fun making a map for it.

My submission for the Thinking with Portals mapping competition Diversion. The point of the competition was to take an existing campaign map and modify it so that the map would continue differently than it would originally.

This map didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to (mainly cuz i got caught up with school and forgot about it until two days before the deadline), but figured I should submit it anyway. If the map upsets you, I'm sorry. Please consider sending me your Roblox username so I can virtually cuddle with you for emotional support.

Extra commentary (spoilers tho)

The soldier was initially going to actually follow you, spawning in the gas area after grabbing the rifle, but I couldn't get it to work well with the maze-like trench and instead just put him on a track. The pixelated part of the map draws inspiration from both Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion and IMSCARED. Both good games, highly recommend each of them. Yes, this map uses light textures. Yes, I'm in pain.
