Описание автора
*"The Enrichment Center wants to unfortunately remind you that this tenth chamber is literally impossible.
Make no attempt to solve it."*
A decent Portal test with some fling, box, gravity, and energy ball elements fitted into just one chamber. Created in Portal 2 Authoring Tools with the help of custom textures, modified models, and sounds. Note that the energy ball launcher model in here has collision on it so I don't have to use brushes to simulate collision.
== Frequently Asked Questions ==
Q) How did you make this? A) The map is created using the Portal 2 Authoring Tools (specifically, Hammer) by Valve. You can use it by downloading the "Portal 2 Authoring Tools - Beta" in the tools section. It's free to use if you're just wondering. You need to have some experience with Hammer first, or else you won't get popular just like me. To get started, go to developer.valvesoftware.com and start Hammer-ing!
Q) How did you get the indicator lights from the original? A) I've already purchased the Orange Box bundle, which came with the original Portal. We simply extract it to Portal 2, and packed it into this map.
Q) What is that energy ball thingy? A) That is the High Energy Pellet (HEP). Usually you don't get killed with this pellet (in Half-Life 2) however since you don't have the HEV suit, you can get instantly killed with this if you're not careful. If this information have not helped you, then too bad ;)
Q) Is this playable on the original Portal? A) No. The map we've created has a BSP version of 21. Portal maps have a BSP version of 20. Unfortunately, they're not backwards compatible with each other; for example you cannot play a Portal map in Portal 2, and vice versa.
Q) Music? Sounds interesting. A) Actually I don't really know this music; however, you can also hear this in Portal Pro, an another sourcemod for Portal made by Mevious.
Q) How did you get the cubemaps on your map? Mine doesn't seem to show up. A) Since the SteamPipe update came out, the "buildcubemaps" command is now broken down due to the new file system (remember the VPK?), leaving mappers out, like us, without their favorite shiny surfaces. However, there is a workaround right here.
Q) Where are the change notes? I thought you put it here? In the description? A) You don't. The change notes are located clearly in the section, "Change Notes." Check it out there. By the way, a common mistake for beginners is to put their change notes right in the description.
Q) Is this test really is impossible? A) Nope, however it makes use of the Portal's "cleansers" so it would look impossible to solve. In reality, the test is not impossible at all. Simply Think :)
