How do I watch this file I just downloaded? You need to place the file in your "portal2" folder. (Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > portal 2 > portal2) After doing this, start the game, open up the console and type: demoui. Now click "Load" and choose the .dem file you want to watch.
What is "the console" everybody talks about? The console is used for just about everything, from your speed and the map gravity to killing yourself and activating cheats. To open the console press the "~" key, which is to the left of 1 and above Tab, on a standard keyboard.
