'83 – Suspension of Sales
We wanted to share a sad update with the ’83 community.
Firstly, from the bottom of our hearts we’d like to thank you, the community. Since ’83 launched into Early Access, we have been sincerely grateful for the support, feedback, bug reports, suggestions, community play sessions, and incredible passion that players have brought to the game. We know many of you have stuck with us through a difficult launch period, and we don’t take that lightly. We had hoped that our first major content update, paired with a sale, a free demo and excellent exposure during the FPS Games Show would breathe life back into the game but unfortunately this has not materialised.
Our CCU (concurrent users) has been significantly below the level required to retain the confidence of investors in the game’s future and support us to 1.0. So the current commercial reality is that we have to suspend sales of the game while we seek other options.
The game will still be playable and there will be servers up but we cannot, in all conscience, continue selling the game whilst the future is so uncertain.
Thank you again to everyone so far who has played and enjoyed ‘83 as much as we have.
Sincerely,
The ’83 Team at Blue Dot Games
