v2.4.4 Patch Notes

DemonCrawl v2.4.4 is now available on the Windows stable branch. This is a stability patch that also improves the Arena AI and enhances board visibility in a few places.

Mac and Linux builds are expected to follow within 48 hours.

Quality of Life

• Increased cell number brightness on Machine to improve readability

• Testing gleaned cell numbers at full opacity to see whether it helps or harms readability

• Testing gleaned cell inner number always drawn as white

• Testing gleaned cell outline color always that of value 1

Balance Changes

• Increased Arena bot max rating from 2000 to 2500

• Skilled Arena bots place a greater emphasis on monster density growth

• Arena bots now have a general "aggression" trait that influences their shopping behavior and item effect preferences

• Arena bots have better awareness when they are in lethal range and will play accordingly

• Arena bots can now decide to go "all-in" on homeland upgrades, influenced by their personality

• Optimized formula that determines how many necessary guesses an Arena bot must make; they are more resilient as a result, especially in early rounds

Bug Fixes

• Fixed Leaderboard avatars incorrectly carrying over the "SOLID GOLD" holograph between pages

• Arena: Fixed an issue that could cause bots to perceive board difficulty incorrectly

• Arena: Fixed visual issue related to Graveyard homeland

• Arena: Fixed server-side issue related to Shrine homeland payout

• Arena: Fixed server-side AI opponent resolution issue that could interrupt AI sweeps

• Arena: Fixed Elysium homeland socket resolution issue in some AI matchups
