The successor to Milling Machine Simulator is in the works

For years you have been milling, turning and programming in Milling Machine Simulator, and many of you asked for more machines, a better look and a real workshop instead of a garage. That is exactly what Milling Machine Simulator 2: Machine Shop is. It is a new game, built on the same real-time material removal simulation you know, but everything around it has been rebuilt from scratch.

One machine shop, all the machines

• No more loading a separate scene per machine. All machines stand in one industrial hall and you walk from station to station.

• Five machines: manual mill, manual lathe, CNC mill, CNC lathe and a 5-axis CNC mill.

• An inspection bench where you take a finished part off the machine, look at it up close and put it on the shelf next to your other work.

Built to look and feel like a real shop

• New rendering pipeline with physically based materials, proper metal, coolant and worn paint.

• A completely new interface: dark industrial panels, clear icons, direct axis controls and everything you need for a machine on one screen.

• Works with the physical handwheel controller from the Milling Machine Controller DLC from day one.

For the CNC people

• Fanuc-style G-code with work offsets, tool compensation, canned cycles and macro programming with variables and conditional logic.

• Free Play to try anything, Career mode with real machining jobs, and Steam Workshop for sharing workpieces and tools.

When?

The target is Q1 2027. Milling Machine Simulator 1 stays fully supported until then and after, and we will keep shipping updates to it as we go.
