Game Update & Mod Compatibility Issues

Hi everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has been playing the new Evolution DLC and sending us your feedback and issues.

We’re aware that some players have encountered crashes and other issues since the release of the latest DLC and the update to the base game. We’re currently working through these reports and are preparing an update for release next week, which will address a number of bugs and crashes that have been identified.

Importantly, we have also found that a significant number of crashes and issues being reported are being caused by mods that are no longer fully compatible with the latest version of the game. 

This is for the Evolution DLC and also for all players who have updated to the newer version, and may not have purchased the new Evolution DLC. There are some tweaks and fixes to the main game that may not update correctly if older mods are present.

If you are experiencing crashes or unusual behaviour anywhere in the game, please try the following:

• Disable all mods through the in-game mod manager interface.

• Only re-enable mods that have been updated by their creators and confirmed as compatible with the latest version of the game.

• For the majority of players experiencing mod-related problems, disabling incompatible mods should resolve the issue.

• If you have previously installed mods manually by unpacking files directly into the game folders, rather than using the designated Mods folder, you may need to perform a clean reinstall. Uninstall the game, manually delete the remaining game folder and the game's user folder in Documents, and then reinstall.

• Please make sure you back up your save files before deleting any folders.

As noted, we are finding the vast majority of issues encountered are due to installed mods and performing this clean up should solve the majority of issues.

Coming in next week's update

Alongside bug and crash fixes, the update will also restore the Integrator Plasma Multi-Barrel Mortar, which was inadvertently left out of the Evolution release build.

We don't have an exact release date for the update yet, but we're aiming to have it available sometime next week.
