Quest Fixes, Fewer Crashes & More Moon Rock

Hey survivors!

First, thank you for playing Permafrost and for all the reports and feedback you've sent since launch. They've helped us a lot. Sorry this update took a bit longer than planned. We wanted to make sure everything in it works properly before sending it out to you.

This one makes gathering a little kinder with cheaper coal and more Moon Rock, fixes some of the crashes you've been reporting, adds new voiceovers to key story recordings and cleans up a lot of floating objects around the world.

Highlights

• Cheaper and faster coal: the stone furnace now needs 3 wood instead of 5 for 2 coal, and takes 10 seconds instead of 15
• More Moon Rock: boulders now give 5 to 7 Moon Rock instead of 2 to 4
• New voiceovers: Lost Wife, Hopes and Dreams, Six of Us, When Sky Turn Red and Separated recordings now have new voiceovers and better subtitle timing
• Fewer crashes: fixed a crash linked to equipment and a multiplayer crash when collecting Moon Rock

Quests & Story

• Hopes and Dreams: the "Listen To Recording" objective can now be completed by pressing play on the recording in your journal. If you were stuck in this quest, you should now be able to carry on
• New voiceovers and subtitle timing also added to Into the Dark and Ethan's Past
• Recordings without a voiceover now play radio static instead of placeholder crowd sounds
• The intro cutscene now has both female and male voice variants

Crafting

• The Disassembly Bench now needs Iron Ingots instead of Iron Ore

World

• Fixed floating logs, ore boulders, containers, bodies, braziers, rubble, skeletons and other objects all over the map
• Removed floating tool boxes near the House Camp entrance
• Removed hanging bodies from wooden structures in Solar Fields
• Removed wooden pallets you couldn't interact with, and fixed cutting wooden pallets in outposts
• Updated the renovation parts at the Rat Queen Camp
• Fixed a hidden location in Solar Fields that had no reward
• Fixed a spot past the Frozen Casket Warehouse where you could fall too deep into the elevator shaft
• Fixed the stairs to the upper floors of the Solar Warehouse main gate guardhouse
• Fixed the floor in New Horizon, the fridge at House Camp and floating objects in the camp above the bone cave
• Removed a rifle that wasn't supposed to be at the Woodcutters Outpost

Camera & Settings

• Fixed the camera staying stuck in aiming mode with Disable Camera Shake turned on
• Some camera features are now optional settings, so the camera no longer clips through thin walls or swaps shoulders near obstacles

Localization

• Fixed many translation issues, including compass directions, credits, tooltips, quest descriptions, dialogue options, the world map and autosave popups
• Settings descriptions are hidden for now until their translations are ready
