📢 Update on development in 2026

Hi everyone,

First of all, we’d like to apologise for going quiet these last few months. We completely understand your frustrations regarding outstanding bugs and wanted to reassure you that we are committed to continuing development on Tormented Souls 2 in 2026. Following the release of the ‘New Game Plus’ update on 12th February we have been investigating a number of new issues alongside historic bugs, and so we wanted to give you a quick update on our plans for patches in the coming weeks and months.

Today we’re soft launching the 1.4.1.3 patch on a public beta branch. This patch includes the following bug fixes:

General bugfixes

• Knocking the Iron Maiden into a corner will result in no interaction.

• Iron Maiden will cause the player to be stuck in loop animation after taking damage.

• FPS drops in Iron Maiden boss fight when using the shotgun.

• Dr Hertz could not be defeated due to enemies not spawning.

• Rubber Hose item disappears from inventory.

• Elevator displays no power in the church after completing the puzzle.

• Quick turn does not work when switching from tank controls to analog.

• Save data displays "Standard" when playing on Assisted difficulty.

New Game Plus specific bugfixes

• Incorrect ammo count “100” is displayed on the Flamethrower icon in NG+ mode.

• Upgrade text on electric lance is incorrect.

• Nuclear batteries disappeared after placement.

Players can access this patch by:

1. Right clicking on the Tormented Souls 2 app in their Steam library.

2. Selecting ‘Game versions & betas’ from the side panel.

3. Selecting the public_beta game version from the list.

4. Selecting ‘Installed files’ from the side panel and clicking ‘Verify integrity of game files’.

If you do encounter any issues with this new patch please report them in this thread.

If no major issues are reported we’ll push this patch to all players on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG next week and then update the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions the week after that. Going forwards we’ll aim to have all platforms updated with new patches every 3-4 weeks.

For the next few patches we are looking into:

General bugfixes

• Final boss game crash and black screen when completing the game.

New Game Plus specific bugfixes

• Tormented difficulty now remains locked after completing the game.

• Standard+ mode remains locked after completing NG+ on Assisted difficulty.

• Laser eye unlocks without all nuclear batteries.

• Laser eye does not work on Dr Hertz at certain angles.

Achievements and trophies

• Certain achievements and trophies are not triggering correctly

• Certain achievements and trophies are not popping retroactively
