Hyphen v1.5 - Custom Community Level Audio and More!

This is a big update for Hyphen’s level editor and allows for much more bespoke community levels.

Custom music and sound

You can now use custom music and sound effects in your community level. Add sound effects around the level, looping ambience and sounds that react to the player or follow the stick.

Custom audio is included when you share your level, so only use audio you own or have permission to use and share.

Reference images

Import sketches or reference images directly into the editor and trace over them as you build. Turn your designs into playable levels without recreating the layout by eye.

Teleporters

We’ve added the ability to teleport the stick.

Dissolve breaks it apart and rebuilds it at the destination.

Seamless moves the stick and camera together while keeping the background continuous for a seamless transition between 2 points.

Interactive animations and triggers

Control animations with switches and triggers, make obstacles move towards the player or other objects, and use keyframes to trigger sounds and events.

Triggers can now reset after a delay, so traps and sequences can repeat.

Change how the stick controls

Adjust movement speed, acceleration and rotation settings, even during a level. Build speed boosts, slower sections and areas where the stick handles differently.

Easier building

Box-select objects to move or delete them together, pick between overlapping objects, and use Save as Copy to make variations of custom objects. The keyframe interface has also been redesigned.

We've also fixed quite a few quality of life issues and little bugs we've come across from previous releases,

Enjoy!
