Hyphen is Going Mobile!

We've got some exciting news to share!

After bringing Hyphen back to Steam earlier this year and releasing our Level Editor and Steam Workshop integration, we've been working on something else behind the scenes.

Hyphen is coming to iPhone, iPad and Android on 28 October!

We've rebuilt the game using MonoGame, bringing the complete 36 level campaign, both unlockable minigames and all the precision-based frustration you know and love to mobile for the first time.

And yes, we've managed to squeeze it all onto a touchscreen!

Your Levels Are Coming Too

One of the things we're most excited about is that Community Levels are shared between PC and mobile.

That means levels you create and publish through Steam Workshop can also be discovered and played by people on iPhone, iPad and Android.

The Level Editor will remain exclusive to the desktop version, but your creations will have a whole new audience to torment.

Create on PC. Play anywhere.

A Big Update for Steam Too

To make all this possible, we've completely rebuilt Hyphen using MonoGame, along with a number of visual improvements.

The updated Steam version will arrive alongside the mobile launch on 28 October,

We've worked hard to preserve the original gameplay and existing features, so while things might look a little shinier (the new background types are super nice), Hyphen will still feel just as wonderfully unforgiving as ever. This update has also allowed us to build a version for MacOS alongside the existing Windows (and SteamDeck and Linux via Proton) version. The MacOS version won't be coming as part of this update as it's not ready for prime time yet - but stay tuned...

Watch the Mobile Launch Trailer

We've put together a brand-new trailer to celebrate Hyphen's mobile debut.

We're genuinely excited to see Hyphen reaching new platforms after all these years, and we're looking forward to seeing what the expanded community creates.

28 October 2026 - iOS, Android and a major Steam update.

Thanks for sticking with us!
