Stratus Development Update: Score Tracking & Leaderboards
Stratus Development Update: Score Tracking & Leaderboards
We’ve made another major step forward in Stratus development this week, with the implementation of in-game score and statistics tracking.
Over the past weekend, development has focused on building the foundation for detailed player statistics and future leaderboard functionality. This has been a long-requested feature from our playtesters and will eventually allow us to track player performance across matches and, once the master server is established, support competitive rankings and seasonal leaderboards.
New Player Statistics Tracking
The new tracking system currently records:
-
Units Constructed — Total units built, including faction type.
-
Buildings Constructed — Total buildings constructed, including faction type.
-
Enemy Units Destroyed
-
Enemy Buildings Destroyed
-
Units & Buildings Salvaged
-
Total Resources Collected
-
Bridges Placed
-
Spells Cast
-
Islands Captured
-
Players Defeated
-
Total Game Time
These are the core statistics that were most frequently requested for tracking player performance. Additional statistics can be added in the future as development continues.
Check Your Score During a Match
Players can now view the current statistics for all players in the match by pressing F1.
Press F1 again to close the statistics window.
This allows players to keep track of how they and their opponents are performing throughout the battle.
End-of-Match Statistics
The statistics window is also available at the end of the game on the Victory / Defeat screen.
This provides a complete overview of the final performance of every player once the match has ended.
Future Leaderboards & Rankings
The current system is also laying the groundwork for the future Stratus master server.
Once the master server is implemented, these statistics can be transmitted to the server to support:
-
Player statistics
-
Competitive rankings
-
Player leaderboards
-
Seasonal competitions
-
Long-term match history and performance tracking
For now, the system is focused on collecting and displaying the information locally, but the underlying structure is being developed with these future features in mind.
Hotkey & Keybinding Development
We also began laying the groundwork in previous weeks for a new fully bindable key system.
With the score-tracking system now operational, development will move forward with completing the keybinding interface, allowing players to customize their hotkeys for game actions.
Stratus Continues to Come Together
Stratus is now significantly more advanced than any previous build.
With the complete start-to-finish match flow, multiplayer gameplay, victory and defeat conditions, and now detailed player statistics all functioning, the game is moving increasingly close to a fully playable and stable state.
The next major focus will be continuing to refine unit attack and gameplay balance. Once the remaining balance work is completed, we’ll have a much stronger foundation for the next stage of testing and refinement.
New Testing Branch Build
A new build containing the player score and statistics tracking system has now been uploaded to the Stratus Steam Testing Branch.
We encourage our current testers to try the new system, check their statistics during matches, and provide feedback as we continue refining the game.
The battle continues — and now every action counts.
